My story

I’ve always loved exploring the world around me from a very young age. Since I used to travel with my family a lot, I’ve seen many natural wonders and various unique cultures. Whether it was the tropics, hot deserts, or high mountains I was amazed by nature and its beauty. With every country I visited, my love for our planet grew and I started to appreciate it more. Thanks to the education I got in the United Arab Emirates, I gained valuable insight into how global warming can destroy ecosystems and interfere with the Earth’s natural functioning. From the age of seven, exposure to these topics has engraved a certain desire in my heart. A desire to serve a purpose and help battle climate change. To contribute, even at a small scale, to a greener and brighter future.

Since the beginning, I have always tried to take part in activities that help mitigate the impact of climate change. I first started small by recycling the trash in our household and buying clothes mostly from second hands. I then moved on to participating in the city’s community clean-ups, and now I’m part of our high school’s environmental club which organizes seasonal clothing swaps and spreads awareness of the carbon footprint. I also try to broaden my horizons by attending summer camps that not only teach me to be more respectful of our environment but also equip me with the soft skills to become a leader. My goal is to dedicate my professional life to environmental conservation. This is where the program at UWC Atlantic will assist and guide me toward building a career in ecology and sustainability.
